About Us

Bibliofemme, a project that started out as a non-funded labour of love, has fostered an online community of readers who share their thoughts and ideas on all things literary. This website encourages a sense of community among women in particular and has prompted numerous reading groups to get started.

Bibliofemme’s aim has always been to encourage people to read and to think critically about books and writing. Our site is not about selling books and we review and discuss books objectively in a way many book, and book retailer, websites do not. As well as regularly updated reviews and recommendations, the site includes book news, a discussion forum, author interviews and tips on setting up a bookclub (suggestions on what to read and ideas for getting the most out of group discussions). Bibliofemme offers a haven of honest opinion for those with a long-time love of books as well as encouraging those who are just discovering the joys of reading.

Our community of readers is growing daily, joining with the seven femmes to argue and debate the merits of all types of writing from all over the world: from biography to thriller, chick fic to literary fiction and philosophy to cookbooks. In the overcrowded world of twenty-first century publishing, Bibliofemme cuts through the pap providing a no-nonsense forum for all those who are simply in search of a good read.

  2. Hi Jane,
We read for pleasure so while do accept books for review, we can’t promise that they will be reviewed or the timeframe in which that might happen.
