Anna O’Malley is the pseudonym for popular thriller writer Maggie Gibson who decided to try her hand at women’s fiction. Redeeming Hope is her debut and I think I can safely say that Gibson’s future as a popular fiction author is well and truly secure. If you’re looking for an easy read – with a little bit more – this is the book for you.

Hope Prior is a success. She runs her own events management company and, although business isn’t booming, her love life is definitely on the up and up. Convinced the market will turn around, Hope has turned to wedding planning to solve her financial problems.

Unfortunately for Hope, her inept assistant Amy has booked a banjo trio instead of a string quartet for a very important corporate function. Outraged Hope fires Amy on the spot. A short while later Hope has calmed down and, suffering from guilt, goes in search of Amy. Finding herself in a situation where only she can save Amy’s life, Hope casts all thoughts for her own well being aside and takes the plunge.

Waking up to find herself in the company of Reuben, things start to take a strange turn. Reuben is a her guardian angel and Hope finds herself faced with her past; rectifying mistakes she has made is the only way she can have a future.

Redeeming Hope is a breath of fresh air. Witty and absorbing, Anna O’Malley/Maggie Gibson has taken a fresh and original idea and written a book that you just can’t put down. Highly recommended.
