On the outside it looks like Jim and Jane have the perfect marriage but, scratch the surface a little, and you see that all is not as it seems. Jim announces that he can’t go on and, leaving Jane to deal with their two children, packs his bag and goes to stay with a friend.
Shortly after Jim’s departure, Jane’s mother lands on her doorstep having left her father yet again, although this time it all seems a bit more serious. Jane has to deal with all this while trying to digest the fact that a designer hair salon has opened up the road from her humble salon and looks like it will put her out of business if she doesn’t do something drastic.
Wedded Blitz tells the story of a woman trying to hold it all together while everything in her life seems to be falling apart. From early on in the book you’re left to try and figure out what caused the distance between Jim and Jane and this is a question that is answered as you read, not fully disclosed until near the end.
Tina Reilly has once again produced an entertaining read, in keeping with the style of her previous books.
