Rosie Mitchell is finally getting used to life without her late husband Martin. However, her two grown-up children are proving to be just a little bit selfish. So far Rosie has given in to their every request – but will it bring her happiness?

Louise Patterson is only 24, but she has already been through the mill. Determined to live life to the full, she has mounting debts and she’s slowly beginning to question everything in her life. Are her friends really her true friends and, although being a party girl is good fun, will she ever be able to clear her debts?

Dara Campbell is the picture of success. She owns her own apartment, has a very successful job as a solicitor and is married to a lovely man. Faced with a blast from the past she is forced to make some decisions that could change her life forever.

These three women all have decisions to make. While sitting on the train into Dublin, little to do they know that the future has something else in store for them.

Melissa Hill is using the tried and tested model in her fourth novel. Unlike most chick lit, Wishful Thinking evokes strong opinions in the reader, particularly in relation to Rosie Mitchell’s two children. This is a page turner and Hill’s best effort so far. The Techie
